Christian Drug Rehab
Here at Christian Drug Rehab we help people locate Christian based treatment facilities. Because there are many drug rehabs available, it can be more than challenging when faced with finding the right program for you or a loved-one. Christian drug rehabs should all have at least one thing in common they center primarily on the emphasis of freeing people from drug addiction and alcoholism by building a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ through studing and applying the Word of God and thus developing a solid foundation of everlasting faith. However, the degree of Christian centeredness utilized in each drug and alcohol treatment facility varies from program to program.
For example some Christian recovery services provide a strictly Bible based Christian discipleship program, whereas another drug rehab facilities may provide a Christian track, which offers a Christian program within a traditional rehab setting. Christian track rehab centers may provide more or less of these various treatment approaches such as Celebrate Recovery, 12 step programs (Alcoholics Anonymous & Narcotics Anonymous), dual diagnosis, and other methods of counseling and psychotherapies in addition to their optional Christian program. The Christian track drug rehab offers a Christian program or partial Christian rehab program provided within the same facility as a traditional or alternative treatment program. Moreover the Christian track rehabs are generally shorter-term and more expensive, but most are able to accept insurance do to the combination of traditional practices such as licensed physicians and psychotherapists.
Christian drug rehab is a faith based recovery program where an individual addicted to drugs or alcohol and other life-controlling issues can receive rehabilitation on all levels; physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and most important the Spiritual aspect of the person. Because when we neglect learning to take-care of ourselves spiritually, our mental and physical condition suffers too, and vica-versa, nevertheless the spiritual aspect of us is the deepest part, therefore if we are not right spiritually everything else is a façade, without integrity, and not eternal, and passing away and doesn’t last.
To effectively recover from drugs and alcohol addiction, treatment that addresses each individual issue of these areas lining up with God’s Word is essential.
Christian rehabs highlight the authority and wisdom of Christ's love as the gateway through the restoration process; by studying God’s Word (Bible scriptures), the recovering students gain practical truths about where we come from and the ultimate purpose for our lives, and in so braking strongholds passed down through generations predisposing them to certain addictions. Moreover addicts discover the difference between the so-called wisdom of this age, which for the most part promotes sex-drug-and rock-in-roll so to speak; and the real wisdom, knowledge and understanding that the foundations of the earth are built on; Therefore giving us a true compass to avoid the many pit-falls that lead back to the many addictions that seek to destroy our lives.
Also, in learning the Bible and memorizing scripture essential to their underlying issues, Christians in rehabilitation programs increase their ability overcome temptation and the costly and painful consequences of giving into them. Moreover in Christian drug rehab students discover that they are in a spiritual battle and achieve tools to fight the battles through prayer staying in the Word.
Why pray to a "higher power" when you can pray to Jesus Christ? Actively praying together also feels a lot more natural to Christians than praying to some obscure "higher power" as in AA based programs. And through individual prayer and meditation with Jesus Christ, and through shared prayer sessions with other addicts in recovery, we take some of the strength offered by God as our own, and ask Him to lead us into better lives of service, and away from the harms of a drug or alcohol abuse.
Choosing a Christian rehab center is important because addressing drug addiction treatment from the inside out (healing of the spirit) is the only true remedy for actual freedom from substance abuse and other hurts habits and hang-ups. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. —John 8:36
Also important in a Christian recovery program is the physical and mental healing because it all ties in together: I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. —Romans 12:1-2
Various Christian drug rehab centers utilize some of the nontraditional treatment practices from secular rehabilitation programs to a more or lesser degree, such as medical detoxification, psychotherapies along with dual diagnosis doctors and medications for various conditions. This type of Christian drug rehab might be beneficial for addict’s who want a Christian rehabilitation program but also need medical attention for various infirmity or unfavorable mental health conditions. Also many of the long-term Christian recovery services aren’t setup to provide a medical-detoxification program therefore in many cases the addict will need to go in to detox elsewhere before entering the long-term Christian treatment facility.
The proportion of Christianity and the amount of fellowship with other Christians could be less here than a strictly Bible based program, However some individuals may want a more milder diverse approach at first in their recovery.
They loathe every kind of food, and they draw near to the gates of death. Then they cry to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivers them out of their distresses. He sends forth His word and heals them and rescues them from the pit and destruction. Oh, that men would praise [and confess to] the Lord for His goodness and loving-kindness and His wonderful works to the children of men! -Psalm 107:18-21
The more of God's word you willfully seek, receive and abide in your heart the stronger you'll become to stand firm in the day of adversity. And yes, when test and trials come you'll even be able to shun drugs and/or alcohol or any other addictions for that matter. Praise God!
